Gobidara is taking part in COP17 of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification

From 17 to 28 August 2026, Gobidara LLC is taking part in the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17), held in Ulaanbaatar.

Convened under the motto "Restoring Land, Restoring Hope", the conference is being hosted by Mongolia for the first time and is the first of its kind in East and Central Asia — a historic occasion for the region. Delegates from 197 countries, heads of state and government, ministers, and representatives of international organisations, research institutes, civil society and the private sector have gathered to seek solutions to the interlinked challenges of desertification, land degradation, drought and aridity.

With almost 77 per cent of its territory affected by degradation, Mongolia is among the countries worst hit by desertification. As a company committed to environmentally responsible production, we have long treated this issue as a guiding principle of our work.

At the conference, Gobidara is presenting its juniper and thyme sprays — made from Mongolian medicinal plants processed by traditional methods — to delegates from 197 countries. It is an exceptional opportunity to show the world how value can be created through the sustainable use of Mongolia’s natural resources.
